Milfoil IMA Joint Board

Goal:

Milfoil is a problem affecting all of Lake Winnipesaukee and many of the other water bodies in the region. Plant fragments, which can cause a new infestation, are easily transported between jurisdictions on water crafts and by the simple flow of water. In the spring of 2010 it was recognized that a combined effort on the part of several towns might prove the most effective way of dealing with this aquatic nuisance. Toward that end the two towns of Tuftonboro and Wolfeboro entered into an Intermunicipal Agreement to do just that.

This agreement is managed by a Joint Board comprised of two representatives from each Town. They act in accordance with an agreement approved by the Office of the Attorney General.
