Here are just a few examples:

School Lunch Program

Tuftonboro officers regularly visit the Central School during lunch break in order to interact with the students in a positive, friendly manner. We continue to develop these relationships through Bike Safety Day, Trick-or-Treat At The Police Department, Law Enforcement Day and other student-related activities.

Helping Future Officers

Our officers regularly help the young people in our community who are looking toward a career in law enforcement with advice, ideas for further education and places to start the process. Chief Shagoury serves on the committee for the NH Police Cadet Academy.

Safety Seminars

We want our residents to know how to optimize their personal safety, so our Department teaches Women's Safety Seminars. With both classroom instruction and hands-on training, these one-day classes are held several times a year --- and they're free of charge. Check our Events listings for the next seminar date and bring a friend along!

Continuing Education

The members of our Department are committed to continuing education which will benefit their work and community. This may be in the form of tactical training, K-9 training or courses in NH law. It ensures that our officers are equipped with the tools they require to best serve our residents.

Cooperative Effort With Law Enforcement

As a member of the Carroll County Association of Chiefs of Police and a member of the NH Association of Chiefs of Police, Chief Shagoury exchanges information about our community and remains informed about those that surround us. We regularly work with the Carroll County Drug Task Force, the Carroll County Child Advocacy Center and other departments.

Community Involvement

Our elves help Santa deliver gifts and toys from Tuftonboro's annual Christmas Fund, but our involvement doesn't stop there. Our Officers are active in many outside organizations ranging from the Special Olympics to the Lakes Region Humane Society.
