Approved 12.31.07

PRESENT:  Chairman Weeks, Selectman Stockman, Selectman Duffy, Cathy Pounder, Jeanie Forrester

The Selectmen reviewed the Health Agencies budget.  Cathy Pounder noted that Tri-County CAP, Inc., North Country Transit had made a request for support in the amount of $3k.  Chairman Weeks made a motion not to fund the request.  Selectman Stockman seconded the motion.  Vote on the motion was unanimous.

Selectman Stockman made a motion to accept the 2008 Health Agencies budget in the amount of $24,096.  Chairman Weeks seconded the motion.  Vote on the motion was unanimous.

The Selectmen reviewed the Financial Administration budget.  There was a brief discussion about the Mindfire recommendations for software and hardware upgrades.  The following items were added to the budget: $750 for Antivirus upgrades, $380 for Firewall Installation, $220 for Memory upgrade to the Town server, and $2k for two new computers for a total of $3,350.

The Selectmen agreed to make the other recommended improvements in the following year.  Chairman Weeks made a motion to accept a proposed 2008 Financial Administration budget in the amount of $110,202.  Selectman Stockman seconded the motion.  Vote on the motion was unanimous.

There was a brief discussion about the recommended improvements to the Transfer Station made from the Primex and NH DES facility reports.  The improvements would add an additional $3k (which would impact the operating budget and the government buildings budget).  Forrester will review the recommendations and report back to the Selectmen the impact on each budget.

There was a brief discussion on the personnel administration budget.  This budget will be reviewed at a later work session.

Selectman Duffy advised he had received a request to change New Road to Haley Road in recognition of a resident in Tuftonboro.  After a brief discussion, the Selectmen all decided against the name change.

The Selectmen will meet with the Budget Committee tomorrow night and discuss the Fire Department, Health Agencies and the warrant articles.

The meeting ended at 6:50 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Jeanie Forrester
