2008 Budget

PRESENT:  Chairman Weeks, Selectman Stockman, Selectman Duffy, Cathy Pounder, Jeanie Forrester

 

The Selectmen reviewed the Police Department budget with Chief Shagoury.  There was a discussion about the step increase for the Police Chief.  Selectman Duffy and Selectman Stockman had previously voted not to give the Chief a step increase.  The Police budget that had been approved last week included the step increase for the Chief.

 

Chairman Weeks made a motion to reduce the budget to $291,942 which reflects no step increase for the Chief.  Selectman Stockman seconded the motion.  Vote on the motion was unanimous.

 

The Selectmen reviewed the Fire Department Budget with Chief Thompson.  $1,750 was added to the budget in the Offices Supplies line (it originated from the Government Buildings budget from the maintenance line) making the new budget total $282,263.85.  Selectman Stockman made a motion to accept the 2008 Fire Department budget in the amount $282,263.85.  Chairman Weeks seconded the motion.  Vote on the motion was unanimous.

 

The Selectmen reviewed the Emergency Management Budget.  Chairman Weeks made a motion to accept the 2008 Emergency Management in the amount of $12,500.  Selectman Stockman seconded the motion.  Vote on the motion was unanimous.

 

Budgets outstanding are personnel administration, finance administration, and health agencies.  Warrant articles also need to be reviewed.

 

The Selectmen will have another work session on Friday, December 7 at 8 a.m. at the Town Office to work on warrant articles.

 

Chairman Weeks made a motion to go into non-public at approximately 11:10 a.m. per RSA 91-A:3(II)(b).  Selectman Stockman seconded the motion.  Vote on the motion: Weeks – yes, Stockman – yes, Duffy – yes. 

 

The Selectmen moved out of non-public at approximately 11:30 a.m. 

 

The Selectmen interviewed a candidate for the administrative assistant position.  No action was taken.

 

There was no discussion regarding the Public Safety Facilities Committee.
