Central Fire Station

Central Fire Station

189 Middle Rd. Center Tuftonboro, NH 03816

Construction of the Central Fire Station was completed in August 2013.  In 1987, an agreement was reached between the Town of Tuftonboro and Winner's Circle Farm to house a Fire Engine in a heated garage on the farm property.  This agreement strategically placed an engine on the central/eastern side of town with limited fire protection. For the next 26 years, that Engine ran out of Winner's Circle Farm until the completion of the Central Fire Station.  Central Station now houses that fire engine, a “pumper/tanker” combination fire engine, an ambulance, medium-duty rescue, an airboat, and forestry. Seasonally, it may also house other watercraft or utility terrain vehicles.  Central Station is our "Headquarters" and is also the home to our administrative offices, training grounds, and classroom.

Since the Fire Code required a water supply for the sprinkler system, it was designed with a shared cistern. This creates an accredited 30,000-gallon water supply for local fire suppression underneath the station.

Central Station is staffed Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. unless companies are out on emergencies or other fire prevention activities.
