WAYS YOU CAN PREVENT FIRES |

1. Never play with matches or lighters. |

2. Don't touch lit candles. |
|
3. Always get permission before you use the stove and never leave cooking food unattended.

WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF FIRE |
|
1. Go out fast and stay out. Don't stop to take anything. |
|
2. Check doors before opening them. Feel the door with the back of your hand. If it's warm, use another exit. |
|
3. Crawl low under smoke. |
|
4. If your clothes catch on fire, STOP, DROP and ROLL. |
|
5. Make a Fire Escape Plan with your family. It should show two ways out of every room, and where to meet outside in case of fire.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR EMERGENCIES |

1. Keep the phone number for the fire department, police department, family doctor, and poison control center by every phone. |
|
2. Learn what to do in an emergency: - Stay calm - Call 911 - Explain the problem - Give the address - Listen carefully to directions from the 911 operator - Don't hang up until you are told to do so. |

3. All family members should take a basic first-aid course.
