To Sponsor Two Youths to Barry Conservation Camp

Summer 2007

The Tuftonboro Conservation Commission is interested in sending two youths to Barry Conservation Camp for a one week session this summer.  Applicants must be a resident of Tuftonboro and be between the ages of 10 to 15 (must have completed 5th grade).  The camp registration fee of $50.00 will be paid by the camper, with the Conservation Commission paying the balance of the tuition.

Barry Conservation Camp is conducted jointly by the UNH Cooperative Extension, NH Fish and Game Department and the NH 4-H Camps.  This program is geared toward youth who have a strong interest in conservation education and management.

Barry Conservation Camp is located on the grounds of the Berlin Fish Hatchery in Berlin, NH.  Situated in the heart of 27,000 acres of the White Mountain National Forest, in the Kilkenney area, it is surrounded by wildlife and forest habitat.  Living quarters are large, airy cabins, equipped with a bed and footlocker for each camper and staff member, with approximately 7 campers and 1 staff member per cabin.

There are several sessions available; the date will be determined by the Conservation Commission.
