Selectmen’s Work Session January 17, 2008

PRESENT: Chairman Weeks, Selectman Stockman, Selectman Duffy, Tyler Phillips, Jeanie Forrester

The Selectmen met with Tyler Phillips to discuss the draft instructions to the Public Safety Facilities Committee members. The discussion included a review and refinement of the instructions, compliance with ADA requirements, and reporting to the Selectmen and residents on options and recommendations.

Phillips suggested that when the instructions are complete and the committee named, the Selectmen should meet with the Committee to review the instructions.

There was a brief discussion on giving the Committee the encouragement and ability to use consultants and experts for advice.

There was agreement that how to fund the final solution was not within the purview of the Committee.

Chairman Weeks will update the instructions based on today’s meeting. The Selectmen will meet on January 24^th at 9 a.m. to review the final instructions and choose committee members.

The Selectmen discussed the 2008 budget briefly. Chief Thompson agreed to have information to the Selectmen by the 28^th of January for the cost of asbestos removal at the Dearborn property. The Selectmen agreed that the expense would fall under the General Government category of the budget and a line item would be created for the Dearborn property.

The Selectmen reviewed several resumes for the Town Administrator position and agreed to schedule interviews for next week.

The meeting adjourned at approximately 10:25 a.m.
