At approximately 3:25 Selectmen met with Dusty Davies of the Mirror Lake Protective Association regarding the Libby Park property. Ms. Davies went over the history of the project to date and was now looking for the Selectmen’s acceptance of the property with more restrictive covenants than was detailed in the original trust. The MLPA wants the property to be kept as undeveloped woodland. The Selectmen questioned the restrictions and felt that further discussion would be needed. Selectman Albee questioned taking the parcel off the tax rolls and wanted to know what the benefit would be to all residents in Tuftonboro not just Mirror Lake residents. Ms. Davies said she had wanted to send a letter to the thirty beneficiaries of the Libby Park Trust saying that the Selectmen would accept the property with the restrictions. She was not optimistic that getting approval from the beneficiaries without that would be possible. Ms Davies will return after getting feedback from the beneficiaries.
Selectmen discussed and approved the following appointments:
Additional appointments for the Conservation Commission and Parks & Rec will be forthcoming.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:05.
Respectfully Submitted,
Carolyn Sundquist
