Minutes: The Selectmen’s meeting minutes of 9-20-04 were approved as corrected.

 

Items for Signature: Permit by Notification for Melvin Wharf; Veterans Tax Credit for Pike; Deed for William Deterling.

 

At approximately 6:30, Selectman Albee made a motion to go into non-public session pursuant to RSA 91-A: 3 II (b) to discuss a personnel issue. Selectman Stockman seconded the motion. Roll call: Chairman Weeks – yes, Selectman Stockman – yes, Selectman Albee – yes.

 

At approximately 6:50 Selectmen met with Patty Korbet of H. E. Bergeron. Change orders #1 and #2, which had been faxed, were reviewed. The originals have been mailed for signatures. Ms. Korbet pointed out that three weeks have been added to the schedule and the date for final payment was extended in the event the paving cannot be done until spring. The increase in cost was verified. Ms. Korbet said that a decision was made to only pave up to Harvest Lane with all of the rest of the road to be done at the same time it is scheduled for maintenance. The road base needs to be rebuilt and extensive ditching for drainage would have to be done. Selectman Albee requested a sign be put up at the corner to advise that the bridge was closed. The abutments will be poured on Tuesday and the road will be torn up next week. Ms Korbet will be at next weeks meeting to present the first payment application and the original change orders to be signed. Ms. Korbet advised that administrative costs are running over budget and will probably be discussed next week.

 

A motion was made by Selectman Albee to appoint Chairman Weeks as the Selectmen’s representative to the Hurlburt Trust. Seconded by Selectman Stockman with all in favor.

 

The Selectmen approved returning the bid deposit on Heritage Road (69-2-25) to Candace Sharp. The next bidder will be contacted.

 

Chairman Weeks reported that Wes Flierl inspected the work on the Town House last week and today and everything looks good.

 

Selectmen approved and signed the following:

  • Deed transferring lot F25 to William Deterling
  • Permit by Notification for Melvin Wharf
  • Veterans Tax Credit for Guy Pike

 

The Selectmen decided that all three would attend Budget Committee meetings because each of the Selectmen has strengths and expertise in different areas. The next meeting is scheduled for October 5th at 6PM.

 

Chairman Weeks suggested having a display at the Town House on Election Day instead of a public hearing on the findings of the Public Safety Needs Assessment Committee.

 

Chairman Weeks announced that the grant for the Cheney Farm easement has been approved. The wording for the two easements now has to be drawn up.

 

The following issues will be referred to the Road Agent:

  • Piper Road access
  • Request for lines on Ledge Hill Road
  • Repair of cracks on Chase Point Road

 

Chairman Weeks gave an update on the Mirror lake Protective Association and the Libby property. The Wolfeboro Selectmen are not the trustees of the trust. The MLPA will petition the court to appoint a trustee and are researching who the beneficiaries are.
