Selectmen present:  Rick Chellman, Susan Weeks and Bill Stockman.

 

Selectmen reviewed mail, which included:  Electrical Permits for Peter Walker, Methodist Church; Plumbing Permit for Jacobs, Dave and Kristie Smith; Inspection Report for Jacobs; Certificate of Denial for Peter and Susan Walker; Approval for subdivision for Jean/Robert Grady; Property Transfer from Philip Litwinczuk to Nadia Litwinczuk, David Hadley to Trust, Robert & Joan Theve to Trust, Nancy J. MacDonald, et al to James J. Items for Signature: Elderly Exemption Application for Sedler; Bill of Sale for 1987 Ford Pumper.

 

Minutes: The Selectmen’s meeting minutes for 2-2-04 and 2-9-04 were accepted.

 

Selectmen approved the application for an elderly exemption for Janice Sedler.

 

At approximately 5:15, Selectmen met with Fire Chief Adam Thompson. Chief Thompson had further information on the generator issue. Chief Thompson spoke to another representative from the State Electrical Office who explained that there has been a misunderstanding. No decision has been made yet as to whether or not the generator can be hooked-up to the school. A meeting will be held and a decision made which the Town should have in about a week and a half. Selectmen requested the decision in writing.

The Brindlee Mountain lease agreement has not been signed because we are waiting to hear from Town Counsel.

Selectman Weeks made a motion to accept the donation from the Marriotts for the defibrillator and tracks for the ATV.

Chief Thompson has received an application from Brad Beveridge for firefighter. Calls to date – fire-28, medical-13 and service-2. Oil burner inspections-6.

 

Selectman Weeks advised the compactor lease would be discussed next week.

 

Chairman Chellman will check with Town Counsel regarding the Waste Management contract.

 

At approximately 5:30, Selectmen met with resident Skip Hurt. Mr. Hurt made a recommendation to provide more detailed information in the Town Report. He would like to see a breakdown of expenditures, salaries and a list of town owned equipment among other things. Mr. Hurt stated that it is important to know where the money is being spent. He submitted examples of reports from other towns. The Selectmen thanked Mr. Hurt for his time.

 

The Selectmen discussed Mr. Hurt’s recommendations (Mr. Hurt had already left) and decided it was too late for this year but would look into it for next year.

 

The Selectmen reviewed the warrant articles for context and completeness.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 7:25 PM.
