Septic construction approval for George Paul; Notice of Tri-Community Breakfast

Michaud; Deed from Town to Griffin.
Minutes:
The Selectmen’s meeting minutes for 12-22-03
were not voted on for acceptance. They
remain not yet accepted.
At 6:30, Chief
Shagoury reported that he is considering two candidates for the open
position. He has purchased
non-size-specific items for the new police officer to be hired in February
2004. Officer Tom LaFavre will complete
his training mid January; 2004.The new cruiser will be delivered the end of
January 2004. Chief Shagoury reported
that the skating rink had no water in it, and that there were holes in it. He felt the holes were the result of high
winds, rains and mild temperatures…..not done by vandals. The Selectmen thanked Chief Shagoury for his
time.
Chairman Chellman discussed he had received a letter from
the NH Attorney General’s office regarding Polling Place Accessibility. It is a self-assessing and voluntary
checklist.
At 7:45, Joe
Kowalski spoke with Selectmen regarding matters at the Transfer Station. He presented photographs of water
damage/corrosion to the boiler. He
recommended the roof and chimney need to be sealed; clapboards on the back of
the building need repair. Chairman
Chellman requested proposals be submitted for repairs. A proposal from R.C. Hazelton Co., Inc., was
received by the Selectmen for the purchase of the Komatsu WA250-5 Wheel
Loader. The Selectmen thanked Mr.
Kowalski for his time.
At 7:00, Dave
Joubert of D.J.’s Septic Pumping Service, spoke with the Selectmen regarding
the issues with the Town’s septic disposal.
He recommended forming an alignment with the Franklin
facility, as they will guarantee the Town disposal. Other facilities cannot be counted on for
disposal. Chairman Chellman requested
that Mr. Joubert furnish a contact at the Franklin
facility with whom the Selectmen might talk.
Mr. Joubert agreed to do so. The
Selectmen thanked Mr. Joubert for his time.
Chairman Chellman stated that he spoke with Tom Sweeney, and
that there is a part on order to repair a problem with monitoring wells at the
Transfer Station.
Mr. Laase reported that the parking lot at 19 Mile Bay has
not been plowed as it has in previous years.
Road Agent to be contacted.
Selectman Stockman stated that he has been receiving
complaints from various people about Great Meadow being “rutted up” and
“muddied” by ATV riders. Chairman
Chellman noted that the properties in question need to be identified as private
or town owned properties.
The Selectmen will ask the Code Officer to
look at property (PID# 31-1-8) owned by Steven Berry to check on the log
cabin construction.
Selectman Stockman stated that he walked the
Moultonboro-Tuftonboro town lines today to check boundaries and markers with
Moultonboro Selectman Russ Wakefield.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 pm.
